Run For Their Lives

What’s the race about?

Run For Their Lives is an annual 5k race to help raise funds to go towards Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC), the nation’s leading network of camps and mentor clubs for children of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Annually, 3.6 million cases of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment are reported in America. One of these victims dies every six hours due to that abuse. But you can make a difference! By participating in the Run For Their Lives 5k, you are helping sponsor a foster child to be able to experience a life-changing summer camp. We want to see every foster child, ages 6-12, experience a camp, club, and mentor. By sending these kids to camp, our hope is it will create life-changing moments for children of abuse to believe in themselves, find hope, and faith.

Fighting Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world!

Nearly 1,100 children, boys, and girls are forced into sexual trafficking each year. The average age of a young female prostitute is between 12 and 14 years of age, but some as young as 9 years old have been rescued from sex trafficking. Astoundingly, 1 in 3 runaways, gone for two weeks or more, is at risk of being trafficked or sex.

Over 30 counties in Ohio have dealt with this over the past 5 years. Children are recruited from all over, from every socio-economic class and neighborhood.

The FBI considers northern Ohio to be one of the top areas in the country for recruiting, and Toledo is the per/capita leader for American cities. Many would assume that this is a problem only for the cities, but this cancer is eating at the suburban neighborhoods as well, and your own daughter is a target simply because she is a girl.

Ignoring it will not make it go away. These victims need your help to escape. Others need your help to raise awareness. Let us expose this sickness that is plaguing our state, our towns, our families, and our children.

Let’s run for their lives! Register to race here.
