Gatherings

It’s NOT always about the PLACE; it’s most often about the PEOPLE.

Matthew 1:1-2 — This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham: Abraham was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers.

Matthew 1:6-7 — Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon.

Matthew 1:16 — Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.

The Law can only chase a man to Calvary, no further.

FULFILLED PRICE

Hebrews 9:22 — The Law says that almost everything must be sprinkled with blood, and no sins can be forgiven unless blood is offered.

2 Chronicles 7:5 — And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God.

John 1:29 — The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Look, the Lamb of God. He takes away the sins of the world!

Romans 6:10 — When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.

Revelation 5

11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,

12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”

Romans 8:3 — The Law could not make me free from the power of sin and death. It was weak because it had to work with weak human beings. But God sent His own Son. He came to earth in a body of flesh which could be tempted to sin as we in our bodies can be. He gave Himself to take away sin. By doing that, He took away the power sin had over us.

Morality may keep you out of jail, but it takes the blood of Jesus Christ to keep you out of hell.

— Charles Spurgeon

Romans 5:8 — But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us.

Ephesians 2:8-9 — For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it.

Jesus gave us grace instead of grades.

Romans 8:1 — So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 John 3:20 — Whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.

The heart of salvation is the Cross of Christ. The reason salvation is so easy to obtain is that it cost God so much. The Cross was the place where God and sinful man merged with a tremendous collision and where the way to life was opened. But all the cost and pain of the collision was absorbed by the heart of God.

— Oswald Chambers

God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, 'I love you.'

— Billy Graham

We are not saved by the plan of salvation. We are saved by the man of salvation.

— Adrain Rogers

Although my memory's fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.

— John Newton
