Matthew 15

21 Then Jesus went from there and departed into the regions of Tyre and Sidon. 

22 There, a woman of Canaan came out of the same regions and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David. My daughter is severely possessed by a demon.”

23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and begged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

24 But He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

25 Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, help me.”

26 But He answered, “It is not fair to take the children’s bread and to throw it to dogs.”

27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith. Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.

Even: In the highly unlikely case or condition. 

God, will you work with what’s left?

God, will you work where I’m at in my life?

Psalm 27:10 — Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close.

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.

Even there…

God knows WHERE you are. 

God can meet you THERE. 

Psalm 23:5 — You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows.

We can attempt to get even with our enemies or we can eat at His table. 

We can try to get revenge or we can get refreshed. 

We can focus on our adversary or we can ask God to anoint our head.

We can let life drain us or we can ask the Lord to overflow us. 

Ephesians 2

4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 

5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
